Redefining How Today's Families Dine

Reviews

"Huge Portions"

Delicious & reasonably priced family dining, huge portions, super friendly waitresses & staff. I came for the Ruben, which was hearty and authentic. It came with the best chicken soup I’ve had in a while, it was so good I wanted to drink the broth. We had a party of 7 & were quickly accommodated even though it was pretty busy, everyone enjoyed their meal.

"Favorite Breakfast"

This is my new favorite breakfast place. The food was delicious, large portions, service was excellent, and reasonable prices.

I tried the eggs Benedict, the eggs were perfectly poached with runny yolk and solid whites. Expertly prepared homemade hash browns, inside fully cooked and outside was crispy. Love the hollandaise sauce too!

I will definitely be back, again and again.

"Wonderful"

Better than your average diner or family restaurant. We did breakfast and for two people it was wonderful. Good and fast service, knowledgable about their offerings and willing to adjust to take slightly special orders. Offering more than just scrambled eggs – like their Cherry and Walnut and multi-grain toast options. The sausage links were noticeable – not the brown server type – but fresh and flavorful – Sage.

"Very Good Food"

I came back here to eat tonight after having visited it last year while on a business trip. I had the roasted chicken (4.5), mashed potato’s with gravy (4.5), a side salad (4.5) and a slice of Texas toast. I also tried a cup of their split pea soup (4).

This place serves very good food. It is one of those rare locally owned restaurants that get it right. I can understand why it has been in business for a long time. The restaurant is the kind if place where you can eat breakfast, lunch and dinner and not get tired of eating here because it’s good food with a varied menu. Also the table service is very good. When I add up the food scores and then factor in their low prices Thomas deserves a 5.

This place is a winner !!!

"Nice Atmosphere"

Not being from the area, we decided on Thomas’s Family Dining by the reviews on Yelp. This is a pretty large restaurant, with a nice atmosphere and very pleasant and attentive service. I had a club sandwich and fries, both of which were very good. My daughter had a turkey Reuben, which she really liked. We split a rice pudding for dessert, which was excellent. Prices are reasonable too. I recommend it.

"Home Style Place"

In Detroit for a half marathon, wanting to eat at a nice family run restaurant. Found Thomas’s on Yelp. This little gem is awesome. Super clean, employees are super friendly. Delicious food, we had the grilled chicken salad and chicken salad sandwich with French onion soup. The croutons in the soup are amazing. The chicken salad has olives in it, which my husband said was excellent. Try this nice home style place, you won’t be disappointed!

"Looking Forward to Going Back"

We went here recently and the food was delicious! A good sign was that when we walked in the place was packed. We all ordered the polish dishes (pierogis, city chicken, kielbasa…) It came out in good time with plenty of the toppings like butter and sour cream. I love the variety in the bread baskets. Different kinds of bread and bread sticks. It reminds me of the old polish restaurants I went to while growing up as a kid in Detroit. The drinks were always kept filled and the waitress was friendly. I’m looking forward to going back!
